Detectors – Alpha Beta Gamma, Photon, Slow Neutron, Coronna

A Geiger-Muller counter, a gas-discharge device for detecting and studying various kinds of radioactive and other ionizing radiation: alpha and beta particles, gamma rays, light and x-rays, high-energy particles. The counter is designed to work in various dosimetric and radiometric devices. Counters are classified according to the following criteria: 1. Type of Radiation (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Neutron, X-ray, UV) 2. By Design (Cylindrical, End, Cylindrical with side entrance window, internal filing) 3. By method of quenching the discharge (self-extinguishing, external extinguishing)
